Will a remap void my BMW warranty?

A: Under UK consumer law, a manufacturer cannot void your entire warranty just because the car has been remapped — they have to prove the remap caused a specific failure. We save your original ECU file, and if you ever need a return-to-stock for a warranty claim, the file is restored to factory condition in about 20 minutes. We also offer a return-to-stock service separately if you need it.

Will my insurance cover a remapped 320d?

A: You must declare the remap to your insurer. Most UK insurers either accept it with no premium change (common with mainstream providers) or charge a small uplift. We've never seen a remap-only claim refused. If your insurer asks, the file is calibrated to OEM safety levels and is fully reversible — we can return the car to stock in about 20 minutes.

Will a 320d Stage 1 remap affect the DPF or EGR?

A: No. Stage 1 keeps the DPF, EGR and AdBlue system fully operational. Regeneration cycles continue as normal, no warning lights, no limp mode. The 320d's emissions equipment is left in place. If your DPF is already showing signs of blockage (regen too often, pressure high), we'll flag it during the pre-job diagnostic and recommend a clean before tuning.

How long does the remap take?

A: Around 60–90 minutes on a 320d from start to finish, including the pre-job diagnostic, the ECU read/write, the post-job check and a short road test. The car is off the road for about an hour in total.

Can the remap be reversed?

A: Yes — fully and at any time. We keep your original ECU file (and hand it to you on USB) so the car can be returned to factory standard in about 20 minutes. We also offer a return-to-stock booking service for customers who want us to handle it for them — useful for dealers and trade customers.
